About this tool
JPG is a compact photo format, but every save shaves a little detail away. PNG stores every pixel losslessly, which is why it is the preferred delivery format when a JPG is heading into design work, a slide deck, or a longer editing chain. This converter re-encodes a single JPG into a PNG on your device using the browser's image pipeline, so the file never leaves your machine. Keep in mind that PNG cannot recover data JPG already discarded and, because it stores every pixel, the resulting PNG will almost always be larger than the source JPG.
