About this tool
Some upload forms and internal tools require the .jpeg spelling and quietly reject .jpg — even though the underlying format is identical. This converter exists for those workflows: take a PNG, get back a JPEG-encoded file with the extension you need. As with any PNG-to-JPEG conversion, transparent pixels are flattened onto a background because JPEG has no alpha channel. The encode is lossy, which is what buys the smaller size. Processing happens in the browser, one file at a time, up to roughly 25MB.
